Mark K. - Phase 1 - Murdo Lamont's Spree

Hi Mark,

I'm not sure what happened here but this one seems a little bit late. Please make sure to get these in by Thursday at Noon New York time. Perhaps there was an issue with your first recording and this was a re-upload.

You are very much on the right track here but I think there was maybe discrepancy in the music. The 4th part should have a Cut-Dot Rhythm in bar 2, beat 4. But if you were using the printed book this might have been missing it. Sorry about that. Please do double check the sheet music on the site to see if there's been any updates since printing. We also do our best to mention these in class.

Keep up the excellent rhythmic precision in phase 2.

Cheers,
Carl

Sounding quite nice. Good groove. Just at the end of the 4th part just a few beats ahead of the metronome but otherwise excellent.

Not passing Phase 1 is extremely common - so don't panic! Remember, the Freedom Phase process is designed to find your weaknesses, and then to help you improve them. In this case, we need to dig a bit deeper into the basics of rhythm before shifting our focus to the next layer of fundamentals. (1) Make sure you've read all of the fine print in the Freedom Phase documentation, including examples of successful Phase 1 submissions. (2) Make sure you've taken the Rhythm For Bagpipers course here at Dojo U. (3) If you can, sign into a Dojo U live class and get feedback on your rhythm. (4) Email us at any time at support@pipersdojo.com if you've tried everything and rhythm still isn't happening for you. Lastly --- To resubmit another attempt, press the small x next to your existing recording to delete it, and then upload another in its place.
