Train Journey North - First Part (Tune Building)

Bar 1:

There's a huge risk of crossing noises in this tune, so take your time and eliminate every one right from the beginning.

Again, no crossing noises. Enjoy the syncopation.

Nice G doublings here.

Bar 4:

A little reversal in the rhythem! Cut-Dot!

Again, no crossing noises, there could be many!

Line 1:

Hone in on the steady click of your metronome.

Recycled from Part 1 but let's try it into bar two.

Bar 2:

Work on getting a nice clean and even stepped horn pipe strike here. Remember the G grace note is on the beat.

Phrase 1:

Work to get nice clean, crossing noise free fingerwork and short crisp hornpipe strikes and stay with the metronome.

Bar 3:

Work through this slowely and build the technique.

Bar 4:

Same as bar 3, just take it slow.

Phrase 2:

Find that groove with the metronome and let your technique shine through.

Line 1:

It's all about staying on the beat.

Phrase 3:

Work to include your nice D Hornpipe Strikes here as well.

Bar 2:

Nice scale run here, make sure you are in time with the metronome, no rushing.

Phrase 1:

Same as before, nice even playing on the beat and clear technique.

Bar 3:

This bar is like bar 1 but one note lower. Same rules apply.

Bar 4:

Phrase 2:

Keep it going steady.

Line 1:

Zen Playing: Listen to the click and be one with it.
