One day I while I was in the Air Force and stationed in California, my family and I stumbled into the Woodland Highland Games. We had a great time and went back each year for several years. The more I went to those games, the more I really enjoyed listening to the piping. I thought I should learn how to do that some day. Then my birthday rolled around, and I decided I needed to “just do it” before I got to my grave wishing I had. So after acquiring the appropriate permissions, I sent an email to a local band and the Pipe Major there referred me to an instructor near where I lived. So began my journey in May 2011. It’s been great fun learning to play the pipes, even if my wife wishes I had picked a quieter instrument. 🙂
